Maynard Caine who has been carving for years in the 1000 Island region and is a fourth generation descendant of Gus Rogers of the Holland street carvers of Alexandria Bay N.Y.
Most are carved by Maynard Caine, they change often, these are just a few we have at the time this was done, stop in and have a look.

The author and photographer has the advantage of spending summers on a Canadian island. Because he moors his airplane there as well as his boats, Ian has been able to picture the Thousand Islands from the air and water under widely varied conditions of season and time of day. Prints from Water, Wind and Sky have been shown at the Brockville Arts Center and in seasonally changing exhibitions of Ian's work the Antique Boat Museum, Clayton. His photographs have been reproduced internationally. Ian has shared his intimate views of the Thousand Islands so far as Paris. Don's more recent publication, Discovering the Thousand Islands. Larger in format and lavishly illustrated, the book's distinctive focus is apparent at the outset, opening with discussion of the Thousand Islands-Frontenac Arch Biosphere Reserve--a project with which Don is prominently identified and for which, in fact, he is largely responsible.

About the Author...

Hal McCarney was born in the 1000 islands. He attended Gananoque High School, Loyola and Queen's Universities.
He has fished and hunted throughout the 1000 Islands area.
His family has been associated with the 1000 Islands for four generations and this fictional novel is about the region's social history during the prohibition period.
