Recent Projects, Donations and Services

 

 

Youth

The Gananoque Lions Club has made a donation to the Gananoque Youth Group, purchased a computer program for a disabled child, provided the Lions Quest program in local schools, sent a young person to a Lions Quest Conference, supported a volleyball team, schoolboy curling, the Skating Club, the Ringette League, provided helmets for Minor Ball and supported house league Minor Hockey.

We have also sent a young lady to the Forum for Young Canadians, brought Polkaroo and Friends to the Festival of the Islands. Sending work parties to Schur’s Swim Pond to work on docks and change huts have been other recent Club activities.

 

 

A Children’s Project

 

The Gananoque Lions Club brought the very popular TVOntario show, Polkaroo and Friends, to the Festival of the Islands during August 1998. Community Service

The Gananoque Lions Club has made donations to the Ice Storm Relief Fund, supported the Alzeimers Society Project, the Lake Joseph Centre, the Gananoque Forestree Advisory Committee, the Santa Claus Parade, the Christmas toy fund, Christmas basket fund, the Humane Society, the Winter Carnival and, of course, the Lions Guide Dog Program. They have also sent a participant to a One World Global Education Program, purchased a PA system for a school, planted trees on the Berm and repaired the boat ramp.
