Sandwich board signs

We recognize that signs can be expensive, but they are the first thing that 'speaks' to a customer about your business, the thing that draws the customer into your business. If you are going to display a sign on the sidewalk, we urge you to get a professional sign company to do it for you. There are local Gananoque & area businesses that can assist. Call the BIA if you need a contact number for a quote. Good signage for the exterior of your business is a very worthwhile business expense that will reflect well on your professionalism.

All of these things make a difference to our beautification and streetscape of Gananoque. Customers notice when we are looking our best and they notice things that turn them off. Please be considerate on all these issues. Help keep Gananoque beautiful. Help your neighbours and they will help you.

BIA “Sounds on King” Returns

The Gananoque Business Improvement Area (BIA) is pleased to present “Sounds on King” the second annual live music series every Saturday, July 9 through August 30  from 11:00 to 3:30 (and sometimes 4:00) in Gananoque’s downtown. This is a BIA initiative supported and presented by the members of the BIA businesses and merchants in downtown Gananoque and hosted by Moroni’s Restaurant Garden Patio.

Whether you are shopping, having a bite to eat, picking up fresh bread at the bakery, trying a pair of new shoes, looking for that gadget, great gift or get-well card, getting Fido groomed…or just out to enjoy a stroll on King…you will hear the delightful and lively strains of live music all day, coming from the center of our beautiful downtown.

All the musicians are from the local area and have appeared in many local and Kingston venues as well as festivals and special events; here in Gananoque, Kingston, Ottawa and Brockville. Some will be well-known to you, but there’s several very new and different ones to give a listen to.

Although you have already missed the first week with Kevin Head and Bob’s Yer Uncle; don’t miss any more! Coming up this Saturday July 19, returning by popular demand, The Mary Jo Mauer Trio with Tim Hallman and Gary Barrett, Sat. July 26 the sounds of New Orleans with Pat Johnson and Hard Pushin Papa; Sat. August 2, Michael George, international award-winning song-writer and musician from Kingston;  Sat. August 9, popular local duo Keith Davidson and Pat Savage; Sat. Aug 16 the amazing one-man-band music of Steve Vereecken returns to share the patio with the company of a new face on the local scene, Jessica Lavalee of Johnstown; Sat. August 23 Kevin Head sits in for an encore; and to close the series on Sat. August 30, Spare Change with Tim Hallman, Doug Gravelle, Dan Kasaboski and Michelle.

The Gananoque downtown merchants and businesses are the sole supporters of this project and are working together to make our downtown more that just a “high note” not only on Saturdays…but every day. Come out, enjoy, participate, support your downtown and, on Saturdays, soak up the “Sounds on King”….it’s a short summer folks.
